Your country of birth determines your green card wait time. Get a personalized strategy based on current visa bulletin dates and employer data.

Select your country of birth:

⚠️ Important: EB-2 India is Unavailable. EB-3 India cutoff is 2012. Most Indian H-1B holders will wait decades for a green card through traditional paths. EB-1 and NIW are the most viable near-term options.

🎯 Recommended Strategy for India 🇮🇳

  • 1.EB-1A (Extraordinary Ability) — self-petition, no employer needed, current for India
  • 2.EB-1B (Outstanding Researcher) — employer-sponsored, still current
  • 3.EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) — self-petition, avoids PERM, priority date starts now
  • 4.EB-3 downgrade from EB-2 — counterintuitive but EB-3 India is decades ahead of EB-2
  • 5.Target employers with 70%+ PERM follow-through to maximize GC commitment
  • 6.File I-140 as early as possible to lock in your priority date
Employer tip: For Indian nationals, employer PERM follow-through rate is critical. Even a 30% follow-through means 70% of workers must find another path. Target Oracle (77%), Intuit (89%), or cap-exempt employers.
